LOL! Do you really have to do loads of paperwork? What about those (rare) ladies I've seen on TV who have no idea they're pregnant until they go to the loo in the pub (honest, this is a true story; read it in the Daily Mail
) and baby drops out!!
Incidentally, would you happen to know what % of births are C-section??
Thanks, and sorry for deflecting thread from bootiful spotty baby
Yes, loads of paperwork. even if those women havent seen a midwife til they "drop". as long as there is a midwife there, they is lots and lots of paperwork, sadly.
not sure that the section rate is off hand, i can find out for you if you like. i might even have it here somewhere.
I was asking about % of c-sections because my cousin's wife has just had a baby and my aunt (who is NOT a very reliable source) insists that because of the fear of litigation, etc Drs will perform a c-section at the drop of a hat and the rate is 80% !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Personally I think she should stop smoking whatever is in her cigarrettes! That figure seems outrageous!!
its certainly not that high here, i can tell you that without looking.
However, litigation can be as high with sections so i dont believe that. In fact, from my experience, cs are only done if there is a need. in our unit, it is VERY rae for one to be done for maternal choice.
But, breech, for example, if a tad different. most Obs will want to section for a breech and, tbh, a lot of midwives would too, they just dont have the confidence.
No, she's talking about Argentina. My sister's little boy was breech but they still wouldn't take him out the sunroof in the UK and eventually he rolled over and came out the right way..
Makes perfect sense to me to perform Cs only in case of emergency.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH! Foalie is getting up!!!!!!!!!
