Evening all, hope we are all well - man what an eventful few days I have had since we last spoke - Got the news about Risky then my sis in law went into labour and rushed in for an emergency section so it's been all go.
Right - Risky, was xrayed and specialist looked at them, he is currently in Glasgow vet school for a bone scan for the final decision, will hear over the weekend the verdict - surely has to be a positive thing tho that they have kept him going this long - well that's what I am telling myself anyway.
Baby Chloe was born yesterday, both mum and baby are fabulous.
Have I missed anything - and thanks again for looking out for me with Risky as I have really needed it xxxxx
Congratulations to your sis and hubby, Glad baby and mum are both well
Darcy Lu was talking to someone who had a horse with a factured fetlock today, and the news was good, so, have a word with her about it! Must be good news if they have kept him going. Fingers crossed and lots of ((((vibes)))) and (((((hugs))))))
No honest, I noticed someone posted about Goresbridge sales earlier and I got engrossed in the catalogue, sad eh, roll on the Euromillions results then we're all off to Ireland
Sea_ View i did a bit of googling, and some people :
- had their horse on box rest for 6 weeks and now coming sound. ( same person used example of sea biscuit?!? ..haha.
- had their horse on box rest and 8 years on no sign of the injury ever exsisting.
-horse had leg casted for 4 months and now
-"A horse can survive with a fractured fetlock and it can live quite well with a cast. Mine was in a cast for 4 months. The problems arise from the location of the fracture, if pieces are shattered as opposed to merely hairline etc. Casts that go above the knee or hock can cause further problems as when the horse gets up or lays down, the weight of the cast can cause more hairline fractures above the line of the cast and cause the leg to break completely higher up. I had one mare do that but they can lay down and get up both with short and long casts and also soft and hard casts. The problem with the Derby filly was that she fractured both. A horse carries 70% of it's weight on the front so this would all be shifted to the back end which could cause founder as well as other serious problems. Her fractures were also more severe. Each case is taken on individual basis and they seem to have done the right thing in this case."
Thanks D_L I had seen a couple of similar articles when I googled - I'm feeling a bit more optimistic than the night that I first got the news, just need to sit tight and hope/pray fro the best x

Today (Chris) the midwife was asking for some name suggestions. Think more of stable name suggestions, but thought we could make a contribution, especially as the Rollestone crewe are VERY imaginative!!!!
