I haven't but know people that have.

Ummmm, not really a fan of gadgets, but, in it's defence, it depends on the person using it! The one's I knew didn't have a clue!!

and they completely wrecked the horse!!!

Other people have said they have had good results with it though

Night Samstar, see you tomorrow!

Night samstar - and thanks!!

S_V - never used a Pessoa - I know there are people on here who use them with great success. The only person I know with any experience of it wasn't good - her horse was on full livery and instead of excercising him properly they were putting him in a Pessoa to work 2/3 times a week. Luckily she got him out of there quickly but it took a while to undo the problems it caused.
frown.gif
Like everything - I think if used properly as part of training programme and used the right way can be very useful.
smile.gif

If you only have a couple you like and suit the horse then you should be ok.

Please be fussy about the saddle though, and don't just take it 'cos you're in a hurry. Perhaps if you find one, you could ask if you could put a deposit on it and use it at the show, then pay for it the next day??

A sort of mini trial!

oh well phoned saddler didnt have another secondhand one that would fit so gotta take that one back. anyhow went to wychanger got 3 to try one my and friend think fits well jumped in it felt ok diff but ok, so having saddler out to check before i buy.

nite x

I won one in a competition and I have lunging Paddy as part of his training so I am kean to use it, I put it on him the other day on the low setting but I wasn't sure if it should be tightened or not as he was lolling about with his head in the air so was thinking it was too loose but I didn't want to tighten it incase it was too tight - the instructions that come with it are minimal.

Is little Jess any better? Just read the post about someone else's pony who had a similar wobble and it was ok!! Hope the same happens in your case. It's awful when things happen that you have no control over, and are really unusual.

Night S_V.

Just about the pessoa. I think that when you use them it needs to be for a specific problem ie: not tracking up/working from behind and through the back. Vet told me the same can be achieved with a figure of eight loop, made with stable bandages!!!

Also, I think it does take time to get the horse used to the action, and to soften into it. Sorry, if that doesn't make sense, I don't think I explained that very well!!!

Night ldlp!!

f_s- she seems more herself - but she has been ever since her siezure this morning (was an awful thing to see
frown.gif
). Fingers crossed that it is an infection rather than ragwort poisoning - must be the only weekend I have been wishing away for Monday to come round.
frown.gif

S_V - I would do a post for help as I know there are a lot of people on here who use them so can probably advise on them. No wonder so many people get using them wrong if the instructions are pants!!
shocked.gif
Have you tried Google to see if there is a website with more instructions?
confused.gif

I do hope that it is something small and can be sorted quickly. Poor little one must have wondered what was going on!!!
frown.gif

The worst thing is the waiting, but I'm sure, if she's looking brighter now, that she will be ok. I'm still crossing everything!!
smile.gif

Sorry S_V!!! Evening!!
grin.gif
grin.gif

There's a post somewhere with a link to some instructions, in you tube form. Perhaps search on you tube and it will bring them up
grin.gif

f_s - thankies!!
smile.gif
I think she is wondering what she has done now as she is in a little pen with her buddies charging around outside!! We didn't want her to be on her own but also didn't want her to get hurt by the others by accident if she had another seizure. I hate it when there is something wrong with any of the animals......
frown.gif
frown.gif

S_V - defiantely worth a try as you don't to undo any of your good work by getting it wrong. You would have thought that for a piece of kit that costs as much as it does there would be a better instruction/user guide with it.
crazy.gif

I hate it too! OH says I'm manic when somethings wrong with them!!! I'm not, honestly, and I would even say I'm quite together, but inside I worry like mad!!
grin.gif

My mini seems a lot better today, moving more freely. Still staying in though, he's got no chance until he's fighting his way out!!!
grin.gif
grin.gif

Even then, he'll have to battle with me!!

My coblet is the same
