Much as we love to be referred to as girls it's about 15 years too young a description for us old birds! (Oh apart from Stef who is only 19!)
Whilst Chris has the strength he has very little horse sense and experience - so he only gets called in when brawn is required!
The birth was a very difficult one - and one which without Chris I don't think would have ended well at all. Foal was stuck with a leg behind the pelvis whichhe had to free before heaving baby out as mare was very tired.
Foalie is now having trouble standing - hence re-enforcements being called in as baby is also knackered. Managed to milk jem and get it into him and he has now managed to stand all by himself. He has contracted tendons which is what is causing the problems. It is a big releif to se him having just got up by himself on the cam.
Jem is being a star - I think she realised we were helping her baby because she turned from being demonic possessive mum to sweet angelic mum!
Anyway - I'm knackered - 4 foals in 3 nights and about 2 hours sleep in total!

Im sure as a stud they do know what to do, however these girls dont seem to be able to help much as between them theyre struggling to help foaley move about.
