Foxes and birds will run a mile to get away from you!!!

Now, a few years ago they mentioned wild boar might be on the increase!!! If that's the case it's every man (woman) for themselves!!!

they just sort of whicker a bit and carry on snoozing

....DL - on the farm I live on all you can hear at night is birds, badgers, foxes etc you would never get to sleep!!

Haha i live in the middle of no where, and no matter how much i hear the foxes etc they still make my heart pound! Tehe. I never hear badgers even though my house backs onto a woods! So thats one less

Reminds me of the time we gave a lift to one of the neighbours, he usually walks home from the pub, and he was telling us he was terrified of the badgers!!!!

I was killing myself laughing as I had visions of huge badgers chasing him all the way home!!!!

I think the pub visit expanded his imagination!!!!

I swear I saw a panther a few years ago...honest!!

And it was daylight, and I hadn't been drinking...needless to say no one believed me!!

There are regular pictures of the panther in our local paper

- and its not my cat Sooty through a magnifying glass.....

That I can understand!!

The sheep on the farm are rock hard and can often be seen chasing the dogs around the field

- my spaniel is a wuss at the best of times and they terrorise him

!! His best buddy is the sheepdog and he comes on walks with us to keep the sheep away from Sweep!!

I'm sure i've seen a panther too!
It , from a distance had the usual square-ish type head of a cat and the long blunt tail. But it was the size of a huge dog and it had no walker/ owner etc.

I think it was a panther

Slinky - no joke I am terrified of sheep! My friend has three pet sheep and she wets herself laughing at me, as they just seem to know I'm scared of them!!!

I also found thirty of the blighters on my land and had to look after them for three days, that was an experience!!

Darcy_Lu...honestly...I'm being serious, the rest of them laughed at me too, but then, if you knew me, I can understand, as I do come out with some stupid things sometimes!!!

This time I really was serious though!!

The one I saw had a really long tail, and it was bigger than any cat I've ever seen!!

Now, talking of beasties, I've just got to tell you that one day (onceaponceatime!!

)

my son (big lad, full of himself!!

) went into the barn to get a rug for his horse....(he must have been feeling unwell, or the groom (me) wasn't available!

) anyway, he pulled the rug away, and there was fox curled up under the rug!!!

Fox ran, son screamed!!!!! (what a wuss!!)) and in broad daylight!!

My scary stable story is from just the other day.....

I went round to my stables (at the back of the main barn - sort of my own little yard

) to sort out feeds and while I was there the ponys hay started moving

........and then the YO's terrier popped out!!

not sure who had the biggest heart attack.....

I've had a few of those moments too!!! Except it's usually my own terriers that pop out of the hay/straw!!!

Must admit though, I did have a delivery of straw once, and whilst talking to the farmer, three large rats ran out of the delivery!!! One ran over my foot!!!

Dogs soon put paid to that nonsense!!! Thank God!!
