Well, what a weekend!
Friday night and Mum rocks up after spending all day at the smelly place she 'works' at, and insisted that we did stupid circles. Aunty Ro and Tom watched (well, Tom ate and Ro watched and said some stuff to mum). We didn't seem to do very much, mum kept saying the grass was slippery but I don't know how she knew as it was my feet on the ground not hers!
The Saturday she turned up mid-morning, having been for a run allegedly - but I've seen her run and shuffle might be closer to it - so I don't know why she was so tired! But she made me go up and down the big long hill twice  once in trot and once in canter, walking back down each time. Now, I know a hill should be taken as a personal challenge, but trotting up them is sooo much harder than cantering! When we got home I got the dubious pleasure of a cold bath, complete with girly shampoo.
Mum was apparently out at something to do with the Hunt in my friend Hector's barn on Saturday night, I heard her telling Aunty Ro on Sunday that she'd had too much to drink with her friend Ali and they spent the evening dancing (don't know what dancing is really, but assume it has something to do with music from what they were saying) and also having the silly drunken conversations that humans have when given the opportunity, though it is quite unlike mum and she is quite embarrassed by it! hehe!:D
On Sunday mum trimmed my feathers and then made me do the big hill again twice and then disappeared. She was quite quiet and Tom said she wasn't all there. I pointed out that's normal, but I think he meant that she was tired and not concentrating. I could have taken advantage but I'm too nice so just did as I was told! :o:rolleyes:
Then Aunty Ro kept us in last night, and mum turned up early this morning (get in, thinks I, a-Hunting we will go), plaited me up, washed my socks again and plaited my tail. Peter brought the trailer down and Tom embarrassed me by calling out to it!:rolleyes:
Anyway, much flapping about and I was finally allowed to get in, and after a 20 minute journey got out to find that it could be hunting as we were somewhere we often go for hunting. But no such luck.
Mum put the wierd bit on my bridle and got dressed up and we had to do stupid circles in front of a car! Apparently, and I didn't know this until today, the aim is not to go as quick as you can, but something else. Apparently. We were parked next to a really pretty bay mare, and she said you're supposed to be elegant! Ha! I'm not some poncy thoroughbred!! Mum's definitely still not right cos she said it was a good test for me. I'm not sure what she was testing though, it was only circles!
Then, after a short break she changed my bridle to my hunting bridle and got back on, (i'd figured out by now that we were going eventing) and we went off to do some show-off jumping. The course was quite small but twisty turny. I did brilliantly, even if i do say so myself, but mum was a pile of poo. I wish she'd just let me do it and stop interfering! We nearly went through the double as she tried to tell me to take off too soon, but because I'm so great I left it up. Then, she totally messed up my line to the last fence, and it just wasn't rescue-able and I took the top pole off. :(
Then I had a nice nap, some haylage and we set off to go cross country. I galloped really fast and think I scared mum. :D She said she couldn't see for the wind making her eyes water, but I think she was covering up! We had to do a big step down into some water but mum didn't let me stop to drink! how rude. Then there was a few other combinations and apparently a rail ditch rail thing but I don't remember seeing the ditch! Mum made me trot down the steep hill towards the second to last fence, apparently I'd made her arms hurt! but then she made me gallop to the finish line! Had a really good round and went clear.
Then back at home tonight, Tom said that the man who brings the haylage eggs came and mowed the big field, which means that we'll be able to go in there once his hocks are less sore and do racing in the stripes!! weeee!!!

thanks for reading, hope you all had a good weekend too
