...........when will he learn and look where it has got him now!!

So a very long story but in summary Roo has a dreadful habit of swallowing stones, we though it was sorted by careful watching and spraying the stones we have with some nasty spray.

Anyway this time he tackled a stone far too big and it got stuck, vets managed to remove it without surgery but as he is dehydrated, tired and still has alot of 'gunk' and gases inside him the vets thought best to keep him in over night for observation.

Poor boy.........as per usual, my vets said 'it will pass' and 'its ok if he is still drinking' so i decided to use another vet practise - so pleased I did he has been unwell for 2 days.

So no collecting my new car tomorrow, no SJing on Sunday - just grass laying the garden and picking up stones all weekend!!

Bless him, hope he gets better soon! My beagle went through a phase of eating stones last year. Luckily he seems to have grown out of it... although he has plenty of other bad habits to keep him going  :p

It really fustrates me as the other two older dogs don't chew / swallow stones - he does't even chew them, rolls onto his back and swallows. I do hope he out grows this behaviour - any suggestions welcomed................

No suggestions other than remove any stones from the garden which you are doing. Hope he gets better soon and finds something less harmful to put in his mouth!:)

Do you give him bones when he's outside?

For those that read / posted...........Roo is now back home, feeling very sorry for himself!!

I hope we don't have to go through this again, even the others dogs were stressing last night........anyway back to my stone clearing!!
