I store my round bale hay alongside my garage which I have to cover to keep it dry, me and oh were talking and trying to work out a cheap way of extending the roof it would only need to be an overhang really.

We obviously want it to look decent as it's essentially in our garden but didn't want to spend a fortune on it, we have a few builders we were going to ask and see what they come up with.

Has anyone done this or got any ideas of how to do it?

What type of land is at the side of the garage where you intend to store hay ? is it concrete, lawn, soil etc.

An option would be to build a canopy like the picture below.
The roof could be OSB board with roofing felt, or with corrugated roofing sheets.

Do you or your OH have any tools to construct the canopy yourself ?

It's got a block paving floor where the garage sits, no we have no tools or knowledge but have plenty of tradesmen we use regularly for work that would be up to the job.

I was looking at that kind of thing yesterday just need to get one round for a quote I suppose.
