Hi,
Can anyone tell me if it is safe to give root vegetables to lamanitic ponies. One of them also has cushings and is IR. I give them carrots but want to give them a bit of variation like swede, parsnip, turnip etc.

I have given them carrots all their lives. They only have a couple a day at the most. They haven't had an attack of lammi for a few years now so I think they are ok on the odd carrot.

Thanks for all your replies. I do agree with the point that carrots are high in sugar but mine seem to be ok on one or two a day (in winter). I have had the ponies for 18 years now. The cushings pony is on Prascend and all is under controll along that line. She costs me a small fortune! I love them to bits so would never do anything to harm them. Thanks everyone. x
