This is my 17.1hh ex racer. I am hoping to get him out and about this summer and maybe enter some ROR classes. I've read up on some other forum posts and understand what is expected in the ring as far as riding is concerned (it's only a local show so the judge won't ride and schedule states they won't ask for canter in a group) but would like some more info on turnout. I understand that he needs to be plaited etc. but would he be a ridden type or hunter type? As I understand its navy jakcet and coloured browband if ridden and tweed and plain for hunter, is this correct? He has a blemish on his leg and withers, will he be marked down for this? Can I wear a stock or should it be shirt and tie? Any info would be much appreciated.

Tweed for both riding horse and hunter, it's hacks which require navy, and definitely a shirt and tie!
He's lovely, good luck.

I'm not sure if he's a hunter or a riding horse.

For you though for either of those, it's tweed jacket with a shirt and tie, brown gloves, navy hat, long boots/ boots and gaiters, and cream/ beige/ canary jods :)

I wasn't sure which he was either - I thought a coloured browband would be nice as he has no facial markings to break up his face but don't want to use one if its wrong! I will stick with the tweed jacket though!
