Rosehips

Does anyone know how to prepare Rosehips, I have picked some from the hedge, and would like to know how to prepare them to put in my horse's feed. i believe you can make a Rosehip tea? and than what amount to feed.

I just put them whole in Frankie's feed or feed them as treats from my hand.

I fed some for the first time a few days ago, gave them about 10 each.
Not sure if that was too many, couldn't find any info.
Ponies loved them.

The Bowen lady who treats my horse reckoned that a small handful of rosehips a day would help her through coat changing season
