Thinking ahead of the game and wanting to pick and dry rosehips for the winter (I appreciate that roses are just coming into flower now) - does anyone do this, what type of roses and how do you dry them? Thank you.

I pick Dog Rose rosehips. Out of the hedgerows. And then I dry them on trays near the Aga.

But any heat source would do it.

Once they are completely dry I then stick them in a food processor and blitz them to dust.

I find the horses will eat round them when they’re dried 🙈

I dried them in the oven after I’d finished with it, then blitz, then sieve to get the bristles out.
I thought I had lots but once dried and processed they only filled 3-4 coffee jars so didn’t last long.
