I am still unpacking crates and have found three vast boxes stuffed with rosettes, some of them mine from over 30 years ago, they are like little faded diaries telling me dates, venues, horse, classes, even the weather! I am debating what to do with them and just wondered what everybody else does with theirs.

Haven't styles and expectations changed!? Most of mine were the knife pleated one tier ones with 6" tails, apart from a few flash multi tiered oval ones, I was making oval multi tiers for clear rounds a few years ago! If we had handed out plain one tier rosettes at our shows people have said they'd not bother coming if there were better rosettes going at another show on the same day!

Do you display them all, a select few or shove them all into boxes in a closet? If you had two clashing shows would you go to the one with better rosettes? Do you write details on the back?

I only have a few, as my mum lost all my childhood ones.

If anyone has any old ones they want rid of my son is desperate to 'win' some so I'm doing some pony care and riding 'tests' for him at home so he can 'win' a few. Pm me if you have any spare!!!

All of mine are pinned up on the back of the shed door - now run out of space so have taken down some of the lower placed ones (4th - 6th) and only kept up the 3rds/2nds/1sts

I always write on the back the date, pony, show, prize money and judge.

It is nice to get a 'nice' rosette but if the show is well organised then cr*p rosettes wouldn't put me off going again.

I've got all of mine, all my old childhood ones are brightening up the tack room beautifully and all the ones I've got on Flash are in my room. With his I write the date, place and class it was from

Mine all round my room, have one wall for onyx's rossettes, he has some pretty ones especially from Willerby and then Honeys are on another wall
I also write the date, the horse, the class and my score on the back

Mine are all hung around my room, with the dates and what class I was doing at the back

I wouldn't be put off a show if the rosettes weren't the best, I'd rather it was well organised with good judging and well built courses. My sister is very influenced by rosettes tho!

Mine are all in a biscuit tin, although the only ones I get now are the occassional clear round from the riding school! I write on the back what they were for and the date, might be in a box but very treasured.

I'd hung up half a boxful of Evie's in the hall before I got bored, she's a bit blase about rosettes having grown up with thousands of them everywhere when I was making the blasted things.
Have you all got a favourite one that means to you for some reason or other?
Mine is my very first one, a very tatty, and quite ancient, faded brown (eurgh) oval one I had for Best turned out when I was about 8 and had plaited up my Highlands full mane into melon sized balls!

All my childhood ones were accidentally left on the back of the hall door on my first flat... I only remembered about 4 months later!!

Not sure about any new ones I 'hope' to get.... boyfriend will probably make me put them in my car as the house is a horse free area...

All the ones i on when i was younger (5/6/7 ish!!) got burnt in a house fire...and since then i havn't entered many competitions....soon will start entering more and then they will go up on walls, ceiling, desk..... space in my room!!! then once we have moved they will go up in the tack room!!!!!!!!!

All of mine are stuffed in bags somewhere in our container. No idea why we packed them and brought them with us to be perfectly honest

. Hardly any of them are written on the back but I remember where I won them all.

I don't really like rosettes to be honest and I would never ever display them. My daughter will display hers for a couple of weeks after winning them and then they end up stuffed in bags, never to see the light of day again, LOL!!

The few that I had with my old Highland pony are in a box in the loft but the ones from proper shows with Mr D are all hanging on my wall much like in your pic!

All with date, class and number in class (ie if we came 2nd and there were 3 in the class or 13 in the class)

I've got all mine - used to faithfully write on the back what they were for & any other snippets of info about the day. Now that Cat's gone, I wish I'd carried on doing it. Was going to chuck them, & they made it as far as a bin bag (prob 300+) but I can't bear to do it!!

The only thing that put me off re shows / rosettes was when I was competing unaff & they decided only to give rosettes to the DCs. Even if that was only 2 people out of a class of 60. Just seemed v mean.

My recent ones and special ones/sashes (big championships, HOYS etc) are displayed on a cabinet or on trophy handles. After a year or so the normal ones get put in bags and most are given to children to play with, though I do write on the back of all of them (horse, date, class).

I used to have mine on my wall, but took them down when I redecorated - now they're in a box. The ones from the last 2 years are sitting on a windowsill somewhere. I feel a bit having them in a box, oh well!

I hang my rosettes in the lorry until 1st Jan each year when they are taken down and put in a box at home.
1st Jan is really depressing as the lorry looks bare - but it does make me try harder to get some new ones !

I put up the ones I win in a season. then they get taken down and put in a drawer. Otherwise they just collect dust. i used to write on the backs and Im glad i did. I also wrote a comment on how horse behaved, number in class etc. Still got my first ones from 30 yrs ago. Its lovely to read the comments from time to time!

I dont mind getting small rosettes when the entry fee is cheaper. What annoys me is when the fee is huge, the rosettes are cheap and the prize money doesnt even cover the entry fee.

Some hanging down the side of my curtains but we have won three plaques, petplan area dressage, pc champs and yesterday at bd winter champs and they are a great idea because I put them on the horses top stable door

Ah yes, I've seen the plaques, I know at the County Shows I've seen them, and over here I've seen lots of stall doors with them on.
