Rosie update

Rosie went to horsepital today, had x-rays etc, she has a fracture on front leg (the splint) and is on box rest for 6 weeks then has to go back to have more x-rays to see if it has healed

Hope she does well. Friend's mare had the same thing over 10 years ago. Mare is now 25 and still hacking out regularly.

Awww, poor girl. Murph did this (but in a hind leg). We tried for a few months to let it heal without having surgery, but in the end he had to have the splint bone removed at Leahurst. It had been shattered into 3 seperate pieces and other fragments were irritating his tendons/ligaments. He was on box rest for 7 months!!! Completely recovered from it though, with only VERY mild arthritis in his hock.
