Ok... so I've not been able to ride for more than a week now cos everytime I'm not at work it's hammering it down or occassionally when I'm not at work and it's not raining out school is like a bog!

Want to get boyo ready for comp in a couple of weeks and can't get out there to school

Boo, hiss, stamp feet

I want to respond but I'm not sure what to say! I think everyone is thinking the same (apart from those with indoor schools, naturally

Get on with you......i hunted in heavy wind and rain yesterday!!!1
As long as you can get warm and dry when you get home......stop being a whimp!!!!

I know what u mean - it's i don't want to get my tack wet through (just bought new saddle)... and also mad boy hasn't been allowed turn out so goes a little bit mad

I rode my boy this morning and was utterly amazed as although the school was completely disgusting he behaved like a star and although he wouldn't go through the big puddles I was still chuffed with him!
However I was on leave all last week to ride and do a bit of gardening and got diddly squat done.

it's awful isnt it. I have just got back from doing mine. Got 10 boxes mucked out, hayed, watered, turned all the horses out, but by the time i had done all that I was soaked through, my little girl who was with me had been trampled while turning the horses out with me, fallen into a huge puddle and got drenched through to her knickers ( she is only 6 bless her), and by that stage we were both so fed up and cold that we have given up on riding today and come home to get dry and eat soup! Roll on spring.

I never used to be a wus but unless someone on the yard wants to go to, I must admit it takes some getting me out and I love riding. By the time the horse is clean you have got half a ton of soil on your face and all you can see is your teeth and you have got your new saddle wet and you have to clean all your tack and your knees play up cause they have spent over 50 years getting damp and abused and your ears ache with the gale force wind that's been blowing in them for the last two hours. Anyone bored yet, I could go on. It just seems to have got wet so much quicker than normal. Count our blessings though, some people are having it really bad

I agree with you harrytom, alot of people have got it alot worse, and i sympathise with them.

I failed to mentioned that although i hunted in this weather yesterday,my kness are still suffering today!!!

Tally ho - so are mine!!! Very wet and skiddy and for the first time this season I did question my sanity - neddy enjoyed himself though...

Yes, I totally agree. Most (even us real oldies) ventured forth yesterday. Stop being a total wuss and go for a hack if your school is waterlogged. I am sure your neddy would enjoy it.
