Sorry to hear this. I had my lurcher PTS two weeks ago, I thought he was lame because he had pulled a muscle, but had a tumour in the shoulder, so he just never came home. My Rotti x is such a nice girl, I just hope we manage to keep her a bit longer.
so sorry, but you have done the right thing by your dog...my lurcher was almost 13 and had slowed up so much that she didnt chase squirrels anymore, she was diagnosed with arthritis in her hips and we tried medication for 4 days and she was no better so i let her go as she must have been in lots of pain...its really hard but the last kindness we can do for them hugs xx
It is heart breaking but you are such a caring owner it would be a shame for another one to miss out due to sorrow. You are very brave take care of yourself
Thank you everyone for your kind words which I really do appreciate.
Poor Max is drifting around the house whining & sighing, & we will shortly be going out on our first solitary walk. I am investigating an 8 year old female Rottie who is in a rescue. I know that will mean another day like yesterday within 4 years, but I feel so sorry for older dogs in kennels. We will see.
