I know this is how long is a piece of string, but does anyone know the rough weight of a standard sized small bale of hay?

Thanks

Completely off topic, you have just reminded me of a nightmare loaner of one of my ponies who bought a truckload of bales to share with another person - and then got upset wanting to weigh each bale individually to make sure that the share was exactly equal. It wasn't enough for her to say "OK we'll each have 50 bales", she was convinced the other person had all heavy bales and she had all light ones. Didn't make a difference to her that the other person had used their vehicles to go over and collect the hay, and had done all the work in loading it and stacking it, she wanted to undo the stacks and weigh every blasted bale. When offered to swap stacks to the one she had thought had all heavy bales on it she immediately started to think that the first stack must have better hay in it and she was being fobbed off again. Bloody nightmare!

Oh goodness! I've always assumed 16kg- 8 slices at 2kg each. No wonder horsie was a bit fat last winter! Am going to weigh one tomorrow now!
