Hi just wondering if anyone had any ideas what this could be , I brought my horse in from the field yesterday, and noticed a round fleshy feeling lump had come up just on the side of her hock, it's perfectly round about the size of an egg:// she's not lame but not being ridden or put out in field today. I am getting a vet to come and look on Thursday but wondered if anyone had any ideas what it may be
Thanks :)

It sounds like a thoroughpin, they occur in the hock, are soft and about the size of an egg, if you push it firmly it should then be visable on the inside as it can move through the joint.

Mine had this - it just appeared one day. Still has it but it's never caused any problems at all :)
