Round Scoops

Anyone know roughly how much in kg they hold?

They're usually 3lb which I think is about 1.2kg

Its depends on the feed, it usually gives a rough weight on the back of the feed bag

On the Allen & Page Calm and Conditioning, it says that the Stubbs (round) scoop holds 1.5Kg ....... as an example.

Horse and pony cubes weigh more than Horse and Pony mix

chaff weighs a lot less than a scoop full of sugar beet

I kinda figured the bit about chaff but thanks for the bit about cubes weighing more than mix!

I weighed a level scoop of various things eg. nuts, chaff, mix on my kitchen scales to get an idea.

buy some scales! or a spring balance and weigh each of your feeds! then you will know! all weigh different and we all fill the scoop to different levels.....................

Mix about 1.4kg
Cubes about 1.9kg
Chaff about 300gm

But best to measure, of course

You can buy metal ones with a scale at the handle end of them. I have these and they save a lot of time.
