Went to Rowallan on Sunday for a scoot round the 1.05m class as not jumped since February and rather out of practice! Arrived in perfect time to watch the last few go in the previous class, get my number up and walk the track. Thought I must be rusty walking the course because I thought eveything looked a little on the large side, but then realised some people were kicking off about it and a lot of the fences were put back down a bit. The second phase still looked pretty beefy though! There were a couple of questions - a related distance to a double and another one to a water tray were causing a few problems early on

. Went and tacked up and started to work in - cue pony jumping like a sodding camel and rattling every fence, except for the one that some dizzy cow started to adjust as we were literally a stride away from it - think we jumped clean over the height of the wings

Went in not too confident given the warmup but needn't have worried - he jumped like a star! Didn't spook at anything, worked away in a nice rhythm and nearly jumped me clean off a couple of times! On to the second phase the only turning options were suicidal (tight back to big square airy oxers on the 1.20m side of 1.15m) so just kept moving on round and finished on a nice DC going into 4th. Ended up 7th, they paid to 9th so got my entry fee back which is always nice!

Photo links below, my position is a bit ropey in a couple of them (particularly the last one, I always over-ride the last fence!), any CC welcome!

Fiona he is a born poser! My coloured horse was worse mind you, I swear he used to clock John (the photographer) and smile on the way past ha ha - his eyes were always on the camera! Noodlejaffa it's always good to get some £££ back - doesn't happen too often! Better than stressage prize money mind you...
