Does anyone on here know who was the photographer for the bath and west show last year, I want to have a nose at the ex racehorse class as I am thinking about doing it this year, but have never shown at this level before!!!

I watched the class last year as friends horse did it. The most show hack/riding horse one won it. All were in double bridles and looked pretty smart. A lot got very tense in the go round but Guy Landau with John Dunlop judged and Guy is a superb rider and many went better for him than their own riders.

Friends horse is nice and came 5th but would probabaly have been higher with a bit more polish. One ex racer had won over £1 million racing.

mine has pretty good confirmation and no blemishes as we speak, do you think they have to go in a double bridle? he moves nicely and is pretty level headed in most situations, Guy lives down the road from me so i could ask for some crafty tips from him!!!

I may just go for it its all good fun, do you know how much it is to enter?

I would book a lesson with him! It would not hurt. If you did it like maybe 2 months in advance he can give advice about feeding, sparkle and other tips. There were a lot of entries - some were ropey and some very smart.

Didn't do B & W but do a lot of these - no problem not using a double although majority probably will be. Ring at B & W is normally quite buzzy. I think entry fee probably around £25 - £30 though only guessing and B & W is quite good with passes. You get two passes and one driver's pass (so effectively 3 passes) for one horse entry. Why not give it go - sounds like a good idea to have a lesson with Guy.

Thank you, I recon I will!!! Going to have a go, dont know unless you try hey!!! The albums are empty for the Bath and West, I have e mailed them.

Well done for the spreadsheet for the ODEs, it is fab
