Whilst I was stuck in the office, the rest of the yard went to Windsor and had some great results!
Mac (Whalton High Point - I think - can never remember his "real" name!) was second in the small riding horse, Phil (The Philanderer) was second in the large riding horse, Boots (Silverstream) won the HW hunters and Dinger (Humdinger) was 3rd in the coloureds.

Robo and Brocket going tomorrow for the cobs - hope it doesn't rain all day as I want to buy a new tweed and I just can't get into shopping when it's raining!

Yup - going to ride Brocket - won't stand a chance but I love riding there! We'll give it our best shot - you never know! I can always drown my sorrows afterwards and spend a fortune on the stands. I have a craving for one of the strawberry chocolate fountains at the moment (no wonder my boots are getting too tight).

Well good luck tomorrow! you never know Brocket might stick his leg out and trip up Robo

LOL of course it could work either way... if you win, you can treat yourself to a chocolate fountain or if you dont, buy it anyway to cheer yourself up

I havent eaten chocolate for 6wks, and my boots are still tight.... so whats my excuse lol

Wow well done team - hope you have a successful day tomorrow

We were going to pop down, but this weather is seriously putting me off (yes, I am a fair weather spectator LOL)

Well Done to the team, great results and Good Luck for tomorrow, I'm sure you'll have fun.

Ooo also was that your letter in H&H today? might be way off the mark but it was a great letter if it was you!

Well done and Good Luck.

Used to love competing at Windsor. Used to do the Ladies Hunter (side-saddle) class. Always fun trying to run in your habit with a horse that thought it funny to try and trip you up!!!

Ahh those were the days. Im insanely jealous of you FMM (but in a nice way).

Well - what a LONG day. Sent my son off to the neighbour to take him to school as I was worried about traffic -no problem though - got down Windsor within 2.5 hours which was fine for a Friday morning. . Parked close to the tunnel, but it still took ages to walk to the main arena. Bumped into the queen - saw all the cameras and looked around for royalty for a few minutes before realising I was standing next to her. She was wearing very sensible shoes and really didn't look very queen like (there were far more queens IN the ring ... )

Finally found the AJ stand, bought a jacket, went to find my mum and sister and they didn't like it so took it back.

Then walked back to the lorry, hopped on Brocket and met up with a friend and went down to the ring - they were really quite good getting to the ring - just kept banging into each other going through the tunnel. Also met up with the 4 in hand drivers. They need indicators. They drive at you and give you no idea of which way they are going to turn. Walked around for ages in the sun, then it rained, then the man with the gun practised a bit (Brocket didn't mind at all so there is another career for him if necessary) then finally we went in. Brocket went in first and was excellent - no spooking or being silly, just walked out really well. There were 8 grey cobs in the class - about 14 in total I think? Did a good walk and trot, cr@p canter and good gallop. The conformation judge kept trying to pull me in and the ride judge wasn't agreeing (shame!) - finally called in 9th.

Brocket went OK but not a great canter - snatched the reins a little so the bitting still isn't quite right. Anyway - finally moved up a place. Final result was (approximately)

Ended up about 8th - next to the cob that was 4th at HOYS last year, so a pretty high standard!

Watched Robo be called in top, then jog with the judge, so ended up second which was a shame.

Then went to try on another jacket at Show Scene - looked awful. Then bought an Australian waterproof hat as I was fed up with getting wet. Then back to AJ -tried on some more jackets and finally found something that I think will be OK - wanted dark green and ended up with light green - they will have to make it so hopefully it will fit when it arrives.

Finally staggered back to the car and took about 2.5 hours to drive back home. So - pleased with Brocket, but wish that the ride judge had taken the advice of the conformation judge!!!!! Absolutely delighted with the way he was at the show though - he was happy with carriages, gun shots, umbrellas, pony clubbers - everything that he saw he was really good with.

Wish it had been sunny rather than wet and windy though!

Bless what a star he was. Sounds like a very exhausting and long day. I really HAVE to go next year as not been for ages and I love Windsor (also only about 40 mins car drive for us).

Shame about the ride judge but I guess it goes like that sometimes. And dont complain about the weather .... we were all praying for the rain not so long ago hehehehehe. It is cr@p getting wet and then hot and then wet again tho.

Well done.

Oh and made me and OH giggle about the Queen.
