Has anyone got one for a bronker..??

Any good at helping you stay through bucking fits..?

Worth the £45 price tag..?

Have been using a neck strap , but it caused the bronks yesterday by him snatching reins to eat grass and it falling down his head and hitting his ears - he thought a monster was attacking him and in his dramatic way had a bronking fit and i ended up on the deck.

I ride a few "my ears, my ears, the monster is after me" types - I find two plaits either side of the seatbelt and a band round them so it can't slide too far helps a lot. Cheaper than an RS-tor too ;)

I threaded an old flash strap through the D-rings of my saddle when backing my youngster who likes to do rodeo impressions- perfect to hold on to and didn't cost a thing!

I think it could help, you can use it to push yourself down more securely in the saddle by pulling up against it (difficult to explain in words!) rather than just something to hang on to. I prefer it to a neck strap because if you do come off and horse is loose it stays safely attached unlike the strap which can slip down their neck and potentially get tangled around feet.

I thought it was a bit pricey but it does feel very strong and made from quality materials. I used mine to get more confident taking a young horse hacking alone, it helped me and I think it was definitely worth the cost.

Wandamare yes a couple of friends use it for youngsters as its that little added security for the unexpected , I doubt it would help if he was determined to get me off, I like the idea you hold it all the time instead of frantically trying to grab something when the s**t hits the fan as so to speak.
I think I'm just going to bite the bullet and cough up for one, if it saves even one fall it's worth the cost in my eyes I think.

Thanks

One of my friends used to use one with her nutty mare and it saved her many a time. It was a very sharp mare, prone to exploding with no warning, by the time she'd thought to grab a strap, she was already half off (no longer has the mare, lol). I reckon they are worth the expense.

I tie my neckstrap to the saddle D with a leather shoelace so that it can't slide down their neck, but you can still move your hands forwards....
