sorry I've tried to do a search (which I'm normally quite good at:rolleyes:)

I'm looking at the RS-tor, does anyone know if its ok to use when you have a hit air attachment in use as well? I prefer the hit air on hot days than body protector, but I will be taking a horse out that has been recently re-broken in and want to feel confident so will probably have body bp, hit air and was thinking of rs-tor? she tends to raise her back when spooked or unsure and if you are nervous then this can turn into a bronc, I want to feel confident which will help her as well as me! she hasn't bucked for weeks and I want to ensure when coming back to me it doesn't return! thanks

Why not just make yourself a fabric strap with a large knot and attach it to your d rings? Essentially the same thing? I don't know anyone who has used one so I can't recommend either way. I have seen threads on here... Try searching Rstor, Rs-tor, as people may have presented the name differently.

What Billie said! Or, a flash strap threaded between the D-rings and done up loosely acts as a decent grab strap too. And costs about £2!

My sister uses one and it has given her more confidence when going XC. Before that she used a neck strap, but she says she felt silly holding that!

Not an expert at all but I can't see one interfering with an air bag as by the time the air is triggered the RS-Tor thing will likely not be working at all (you'll be too far from saddle).

Agree that neck strap/grab strap between d-rings would seem to do the same job for me and can be used with either hand quickly rather than needing to be swapped over.

Good luck!

I don't like a neckstrap as it makes me lean forward a bit and it comes with you in the event of an over the head dismount! I mostly use her mane but I like the idea of a bit of fabric with a bobble on it, I like something that I can hold without interfering with my riding :-)

I use both. The RS-Tor has a ring you can attach your hit-air too (well, I have a point 2 but I assume they attach the same). One does not interfere with the other.

Edited to add: I prefer the RS-Tor to a neck strap or balance strap because my horse bucks and I don't want to have to lean forward to grab it - I need to lean back!! :)

I have recently got an rs-tor as I have a new horse and it gives me more confidence! They recommend both the rs-tor and the hit-air strap go round the stirrup bars rather than the d rings, probably because they have a stronger attachment. I havent used both together yet but I would happily do so. The hit air strap is tiny and I am pretty sure there would be room for both. Good luck!

I don't attach both straps to the stirrup bars (through the D-rings). I only have the RS-Tor attached to the saddle - I then clip the Point 2 to the big ring on the RS-Tor.

do you think this doesn't effect the length of the point 2 strap? so it would activate just as well? (obviously not seen the big ring and where it would exactly be yet) if it worked then that would save me swapping the hit air fastening over on saddles as I use it when riding my lad, the rs-tor would be for a different mare and therefore different saddle (would save me time when swapping horses :) )
