I'm selling my house and want to give the buyers the chance to leave the mats in place should they require.

How much per stable should I charge.

Bear in mind any new mats will carry a delivery and fitting charge.

Those mats are about £39 each (incl VAT). That's to collect and lay yourself. The average 12 x 12 stable requires 6. You can go from there in deciding what yours might be worth. Depends on whether they are sealed, how old they are and in what nic they're in. Also, consider what you would do with them if the buyer didn't want them. Would you re-use them yourself or take them up and sell them elsewhere? If they're cut to size and sealed in each stable, it could be a real pain to remove them.

They are cut to size but not sealed. I can easily reuse them.

Just want to work out a fair price. There are 5 stables, all mats in good condition, well laid and not visibly worn.

So you reckon about £240 per stable plus fitting and delivery initially.

So in total 1170 for the mats, approx 50 for delivery plus fitting.

Would £750 be a fair price for 5 boxes? That's probably about 1/2 of what the would cost new and fitted.

I'd say a fair price. I mean, you wouldn't be able to get 5 stables kitted out in even the cheapest mats for that price. And if they are professionally laid and in good nic, I'd jump at the chance if I were in your buyer's shoes.

Thing is they are 7 year old mats. They came with a 10 year guarantee so that is the longest the company are willing to guarantee they will last so... if the mats cost 1170, for 10 years you have had 7 years worth of that ie £117 per year, you then multiply that by 3 as the number of years left they have of guaranteed working life = £351 left ie £70 a stable!! The thing is rubber is a natural product and has a limted life span before they perish (usually from the bottom up as they pee rots them)

I think £100 a stable is a realistic and fair amount to charge, anything more is taking the mick!
