I am after some matting to fit a 12x12 stable by next weekend, I did have some lined up but the person hasn't come back to say where they are, as I need to be very planned and organised for next weekend I have a busy schedule already so really needed to know where I would be going...
So seeing as I haven't heard anything I am after locating some i looked on ebay, equine adverts, nfed, freeads, preloved last night and couldn't see anything
I get paid Friday so I can only order or collect that weekend I don't mind if they need a little clean up either I think I would disinfectant them anyway to be safe.

So if anyone could please recommend me some matting and where you got it from or knows anyone in the Essex and surround counties or Portsmouth (as I am down for the day Sat coming picking up my new car) I can grab them then.

Thanks :D

I don't have 'fitted' rubber mats but use small mats about 1 metre x..7m.

I don't cover the whole floor just front of boxes with bedding behind. I have just finished pressure washing all my boxes and am pleased to have nothing heavier - they are big enough for me to man handle. I can also drag them out and wash stable floor in the middle of winter.

Mine all came from Robinsons.

I have equimats and can't recommend them enough! They're lightweight and don't leak through underneath if fitted correctly. I put carbolic powder under them once a year and when I get them up to clean the powders still there each time! Had mine 3 years now, they're hardwearing and stay solid (seen some that curl up at the front). They fit together like a jigsaw and really easy to lay (I do them by myself). I'v got the standard ones (20mm) and are fine for my shod 16.2hh tb. I'm getting for this winter some of the supersoft ones (28mm) for my 17hh unshod ID mainly because he's arthritic.
They're quite expensive but definitely worth it! You can occassionally get them on ebay, but they do hold their price compared to other brands. IMO it shows how good they are.

I am in two minds to just have them at front and half a bed at back, have done this before and it worked well, just as this horse is on loan for a year I do not want him to get capped hocks or anything.... if he's anything like my old lad he always went through to the floor no matter how deep bed is..
I have a limited budget this month for them as I have everything to buy again and I mean everything so trying to think about 2nd ones if all 6 or if not maybe I will opt for 3 this month and 3 next month?...

Equimats are lovely my friend had them for her two only her's kept coming apart from each other (the jigsaw bit) :(

Equimat have a sister company called the black mat co. I'm just about to replace very old mats in one stable and am considering these. They are rubber mats, not Eva like the equimats, and so are heavier and don't have the jigsaw teeth. They are also about half the price :)

EQUIMATS all the way light easy to move gr8 everyone of my in use stables have them they give me a reduction now cos i keep opening new stables i have 10 stables with them
the others are too heavy to move

As above ive had mine for years and would not hesitate to recommend them

Another vote for equimats. My stable is an odd size and I just sent them the measurements and they sent the right amount, with some already cut to the fit and the off cuts too. Came within a few days of ordering too! I bought mine in 2008 and they still look as good as new.

One more vote for Equimats - love them. Great quality, easy to maintain and I could swing one round my head with one hand if I so wished :D

Little bit more expensive than other brands but don't regret this when it comes to cleaning!

Black mats but did fetch them as not that far from me, couldn't afford equimats as had double size stable to do twelve mats I think.

Recently fited EVA interlocking mats - very easy to fit as can cut with a stanley knife. Lightweight - so really quick and easy to lift when necessary. Ordered them from a company called rubber matting uk -( they have a website but you have to order these by phone) and they arrived in 2 days. Carraige not too expensive either as they are so light. Very pleased with them and am going to order the wall mats too before the winter.
Good luck with the new horse - look forward to some pics.
