I am sure there are posts about this on here, but damned if I can find them - I must go to specsavers!

Can anyone recommend a product to put down under rubber matting to help with the build up of ammonia? Mats going down on a concrete floor. Thank you!!

I have never found anything - although the trick is to get them as closely interlinked as possible.

I use mine as a base and then have a well established deep litter bed on top of them - no smells at all

Agree with motherhen. Mine dont smell either. We fitted them very snug. I put a decentish bed on top and move the wee every couple of days, my boy wees loads though. I dont lift them at all. My friends are sealed and hers are fine too.

As MH. Sunny has the front 1/2 of his stable basic rubber mats. The back 1/2, overlapping onto the matting, is a deep litter shavings bed. It's been down well over 2 years now and there is never any pong at all, except when I put a fresh bale of shavings in, when it smells gorgeous.

Mine are sealed in with the stuff Quattro sell, therefore nothing gets under them and they don't smell in the slightest. I can also hose and scrub them down twice a year with the yard broom. It is the perfect solution and I would never have unsealed mats again.

I didn't but anything down but ours are tightly fitted and have sealed themselves.
I use Stalostan once a week on wet patches as it eliminates odour immediately and is really cost effective.
