Hello...no dramas in this post from me for once!! I've got traditional rubber matting must be 18-22mm thick, flat smooth one side, with grooved channels the other. I sold some 2 years ago when I moved and want to buy more..does anyone else use the thinner 12mm disc and groove or the 14mm disc &groove?how do you feel the lightweight compare to the traditional heavier ones...do they slip more? will be two per stable in centre plus max deep banks and bed..I'm just looking to decrease bed waste & increase comfort..do you think the lightweight are as comfy to lie on or are they best wall to wall if inclined to slip?just want all boxes covered more really as flag stone floors in the old stable block & as you know these are bad enough in the home let alone in the stable...i use them with wood pellets but just taken delivery of 2 tonnes of miscanthus pellets so good time to be getting more mats whle I'm cleaning out..I very much regret selling some of mine before!Plus side i guess is easier for me to move/lift alone as & when i do move yards for those of you in the know!:-)thank you xx

I think if your floors arent very even, and you're not fitting the mats wall to wall then heavy ones would stay put better. personaly ive fitted mats to my boxes and just use a bale of shavings no banks and the front just rubber bed brushed back, this works for me and taking the wet out as well as the poo, hassle free and clean.. if you have a horse that is liable to get cast then you can get the strips....
