Has anyone got the 4ft/3ft mats rather than the 6ft/4ft mats? I just wondered if there was any difference when they are on the floor (I doubt there is but just want to check) I am thinking of getting the smaller ones just because I have a bad back, and it will be easier to move these when I want to clean underneath. Any opinions?

I wouldn't bother too much about the size of the mats. If the fall on your stable floor is correct then you will rarely have to remove the mats for washing down the floor. I do mine possibly once a year. the fall is good, urine doesn't pool underneath so there is no smell.

Your other option is to get Equimats. They are incredibly light, even when soaking wet. They cost a bomb new though. We got ours secondhand from another forum, worth keeping your eyes and ears open for some.

I have the Stableite ones.... each mat is a metre square and they are pretty heavy, however they don't sit flat on the floor but on kind of small stalks right the way through, this gives about an inch of air space underneath the matting and therefore when the wee seeps through it tends to dry out so there isn't much need to lift them.
