Rubber or EVA matting?

I gave away most of my rubber mats when my Hanoverian was PTS, dumb mistake. I've seen EVA mats, the foam interlocking type, very lightweight, twice the price of rubber, but easily moved for cleaning etc, non perishable, 10 year guarantee.

Which is best and why, in your opinion?
 
I bought the green lightweight interlocking ones about 15 years ago. Mainly to save my back but I also think they are warmer than rubber, definitely softer. Now my old boy needs a bit more comfort I upgraded to the 32mm EVA. I can lift a whole mat on my own and cut it to size if necessary with my trusty penknife!
O and the green ones are still going strong ;o)
 
I bought 34mm thick Eva Easimats.
Expensive but they are very good, I'd not buy anything else.
Some rubber mats are so hard and thin they offer little more than an anti slip surface.
With Eva, you find less bedding is needed as you are only providing it for toilet purposes, not for comfort.
Of course you can really spoil them and they can have added comfort on top of quality mats :D
 
EVA overtime, more comfortable & have more give than rubber ie his body sinks into them, lightweight, scrub up well and easy to cut to six. I have had mine over 9 years. My horse often lies on the bare mats.Saved a fortune in bedding...:-D
 
Hi, Can I ask a question too.
EVA mats are very light. Will they move around the stable if they are not fully fitted out? I wanted to put a couple down but I am concerned that they will just slide apart (dangerous and would also need more regular lifting).
