My vet has advised me to kit out my stale with rubber mats due to my horses respiratory issues (I've been meaning to get mats for year).

Can anyone recommend a good type/supplier/website?

I'm looking to get some asap.

Also what thickness would you suggest?

I got EVA mats from Robinsons Equestrian - they definitely had rubber matting when I looked too. I think I got the 33mm thickness.

As I only have a 14hh non-shod, native type I didn't want heavy rubber matting as it was a real struggle to move them! I love my Robinsons Equestrian matting and it's been super durable so far :)

They were quick delivery too, as just noticed you said you needed them ASAP.

I use Quattro http://www.quattro.org.uk/equine/ They can supply all sorts of mats and will fit them and also seal them down so no need to lift for cleaning under and no smell. I would have thought that being sealed would help with your horse's respiratory problems as no ammonia.
I have large horses shod with road nails and the mats still look like new. Have always been very pleased with the service and have had them fitted in 2 different properties.

I use 35mm thick, interlocked EVA mats. Much softer than rubber, so maybe better for beds with minimal bedding :)

I don't think the make of mat really matters. I put down mats in my current stable over 5 years ago & they are still in first class condition now. I bought mine from an Ebay seller. The mats were 6' x 4' in size & were either 17 mm or 18 mm thick & cost around £30 each at the time? Don't be tempted to buy thinner mats as they tend to rip & go into holes under the weight of a horse twisting & turning in the stable.

Thanks for this - I have seen some EVa ones on Ebay. The all vary, some have bobbles, some have diamonds - is one better than the other. I'm realy unsure on thickness. Most are 24mm, 34mm or 44mm. What thickness would be best to go for? I think I only need 4 6x4 mats to fill my stable as it's an odd shape and maybe one extra cut out to fill the space.
