Rubber Topping on Existing Sand Arena

Just wondering if anyone had any advice.

We currently have a sand arena which drains well but does get very deep if it dries out too much, so we're looking into getting a rubber topping for it.

I can imagine it's not as simple as just shoving rubber down, and perhaps some sand might need taking out first. Also wondering which type of rubber is best for an existing sand arena.

personally I dont think rubber helps that much. I'd water it instead. The rubber tends to mix into the sand with time & it's not cheap!
