Hello

My gelding had a little bald patch on his face as he was wearing a fly mask that was rubbing (he is very very sensitive...), have since bought a fly mask that site high up on face well away from bald patch. However, he has kept on rubbing the patch and it is now pretty big (about 3 inches across, from half way up face to above muzzle) and i'm worried about it getting sunburned or infected. Please can you help me figure out why he is continuing to rub it and what I can do to help the hair grow back?

He doesn't have sweat itch.

TIA!

Could be because its itching as it heals? Or maybe he has harvest mites, though its a bit early. Put a soothing cream on it. Be aware that although lots of people swear by Sudocreme for everything, it contains benzyl benzoate which a few horses are allergic to.
