Badger was all plaited up and ready to go to the new years day meet this morning...... went out to give him his breaky and he was laid down looking uncomfortable - colic AGAIN.

Poor boy.

Anyway he seems ok now, he's eating and has managed some poo's. He's had it about half a dozen times now over the last year or so and I'm worried something is really wrong with him....

[****] Sarah I'm really sorry, bec said nothing good happened anyway, I didn't get up until gone four. He has had it quite a lot now, have you had Phill out?
 
Yea we did the first few times, but now we just do what he told us to do and keep an eye on him... he normally recovers pretty quick and we know what to look for now. He had blood tests and stuff last year and nothing came up.. I think he must just be prone to it?

Yea mum said she didn't think I'd have enjoyed it much, lots of galloping round over little jumps swerving the kids!! It's the blummin childrens meet on Saturday too!

There's a pony at the stables which gets colic at least once a month. The vet said some are just prone to it like some humans are prone to digestive problems. The YO did send her off to have a full checkup tho - they stuck a camera inside her etc.
 
Is he the grey in your siggie? Because greys can get melanomas internally which can predispose them to colic. Just a random suggestion.
 
It might be worth having a sample of his poo sent off and having it analysed... I did this with Hannah because she is prone to colic and I recieved 8 A4 sheets back with what they had found and I can now manage it well.
 
Good luck with your boy, I really hope he gets well soon- its a year today that our beautiful large dapple grey hunter had a fast onset of colic out of nowhere and went downhill so fast that despite getting him to hospital there was nothing they could do. They said something had "let go" inside of him and being a grey- melanomas were suspected. They also said that we did nothing wrong and couldnt have prevented it but we miss him so much.
