What do you use? Planning a long hack 20miles + and want to take some provisions like headcollar & lead rope, drink & food for me, phone etc.

Really looking forward to our little excursion but want to be safe & have the necessary bits & pieces with me.

Little excursion?? lol that is a long way! have a good ride :)
have never done such a distance so can't help

We are about 12 miles from the sea and nearby there is a remote litle pub we can stop at for refreshments then of course 12 miles back. I will be sore the next day but this time of year it's lovely to do especially now the kids & tourists are gone so the beach will be ours again!

can you leave the headcoller & rope on your horse ?
maybe a bumbag better than rucksack , make sure your phone is on you & not your horse just in case you part company
i did a comp wearing a small rucksack with my food & drink in , i was out riding for 8 hours & it was fine , the ones with chest & waist straps are better as they dont slip off your shoulders
also if planning a long hack its always a good idea to have ID tag on your horse & rider ID on you , i wear my x country ID for TREC comps :)

Agree with saddlebags. (This is my TREC/hacking setup.)
Headcollar on horse, you can roll your leadrope and attach it to the d-ring, or leave it unrolled, clip it to the headcollar and tie it round the neck (I have a carabiner clip and twine permanently attached to mine so that if there's no twine I can still tie up safely). I have pommel bags, very handy as everything is in front of me. My hi-viz tabard has a pocket, where I keep my phone and a whistle. Pony wears a tag on his saddle and one on his headcollar. If you're going alone, your medical armband is a good idea too, as TRECtastic said.

Enjoy your hack! So jealous of you being able to hack to the beach!

What an unusual saddlebag - I didn't know that they made them attached like that to a saddle cloth. I saw the thread the other day about what to put a mobile phone into and found an ideal thing the other day in a 99p shop. Behind the tills on a sheet of card they had zip topped bags for small digital cameras with a belt loop on. One of those on a webbing belt with a plastic snap clip fastener around jodhpurs or just around my waist I think will be fine, but obviously if you need something bigger those bags on saddle cloths look ideal.

Not a rucksack. Remember doing a 25-miler sponsored ride with my neighbour. He was wearing a rucksack. His cob's rather bouncy trot and canter nearly beat him to death before we'd gone 5 miles. In the end he abandoned the rucksack at a total stranger's house, and went back for it the next day. Bumbag or pommel (my favourite) or cantle bag - yes. Saddle bags - not so keen on them, as they can bang on the horse's sides.
