My friend has a brilliant coloured pony for sale and she has been advertised about a week now. The pony is a lovely pony, nice temperament and would be a great pc pony. A girl and her mum and her mums friend all came to try the pony today. I have never met anyone quite as rude as the girls mum. She evidently looked down on us and literally scoffed at anything we said as if to say "oh you know nothing". Well i let that go and the girl got on the pony and thought herself to be quite the expert and the pony was quite tolerant for about 15-20mins or so until she decided she had enough and proceeded to canter a few laps of the school and the girl just kept standing up in her stirrups and yanking the poor pony in the mouth. After the girl had got off she just left the pony in the school and they all walked off,no thank you for your time or a polite no she's not for me etc. Add this to the fact that they were late it has really annoyed me! Rant over! :)

Oh dear! At least they didn't want him - I'd hate to sell a pony to people as ignorant as that. Imagine what they are like behind closed doors.

ETA - I am assuming your friend tried to instruct her on the best way to ride the pony?

people are just so rude aren't they. trying to find someone to loan my horse has reinforced this but its something i have thought for a long time

Sound like daytrippers wanting a free ride on a pony. How bloody rude of them. Mind you, you can't really blame the kiddie with a mother who has an attitude like that...

Sounds about par for the course.

I like to go the shows and gymkhana's, just as a spectator. I see dozens of parent / child combinations like this. Add in the crying child / screeching mum and you do wonder why some people bother. I can do without any more stress thanks, without getting it doing something that is supposed to be FUN.

Poor pony, lets hope you friend soon finds a genuine buyer.
