Rude judge

My husband is a nice rider and has a lovely horse, but flatly refuses to compete because he has stood watching me in the ring at shows many times (and his son) and listened to all the biatching and nasty comments that go on. It doesn't mean he doesn't enjoy his riding because he doesn't compete, and it means he comes along as a fab groom instead!
 
Ok that sounds horrible but OP you say you don't care about winning or loosing but then end with wanting to take your traditional to the top......??? Doesn't make sense.
Also don't like putting anybody off but believe me dressage can be even more nasty then showing and judges.
