I don't know how the agility levels work in the UK but Rudy earned his second Open jumpers leg today. Perfect score and first place! I had a woman ask me if he was a Shilo Shepherd (do you all even have them in the UK?). I managed to be polite and explain why he isn't and what the differences are. She was thankful for the help as she didn't know much about GSDS. I'm glad I wasn't an A hole.

Congratulations. Well done both of you.

Shilos are not recognised by the Kennel Club. I don't know if we have any breeders here.

There was a trend for oversized LSC GSDs. IMO bred for fashion with little regard for health. (they weren't Shilohs)

CC has more knowledge about GSDs than me and will probably add more information.

I don't really think they're a thing in the UK but as SD says there are a small number of breeders producing massively oversized off-colour LSHs, including 'apricot' and 'champagne'. But they're healthy cause old fashioned and big bones and straight backs ;)
I did get asked if one of mine was a King Shepherd once by a tourist from USA, he was just very tall!

I think the original intention was to breed dogs that looked like London (The Littlest Hobo), who was either had something else in there as well as GSD, or was interestingly mismarked.
 
Shilohs aren't recognized by the AKC but by some rare breeds associations. They started out as just oversized long coated GSDs. The breed founder, Tina Barber, decided that she wanted something calmer, healthier and easier to train than GSDs. I can't imagine any breed easier to train. So she crossed in Malamutes. What a joke. The breed tends to be same sex dog aggressive and blah. They are too large to do a lot of things easily. I've never seen one doing anything besides rare breed shows.
