Yes I know I can take my rugs to a proper rug repairer to adjust ect but I just want to know so I can tell my friend whose a seemstress where she has to take it up. I have a rug which fits long way but not around the neck. Needs about an inch or two taking up.

I want to know where on the rug neck line do you overlap? Near the chest straps? On each side? Near the withers? Or anywhere I fancy?

Personally I'd get your friend to remove the front fastenings at his chest and move them further apart - you might have to do a bit of measuring and fitting - but I think that would be the best way to close up the neck without messing up the overall fit of the rug

I've thought about that but wasnt are if it would cause problems? I guess you can overlap more as you fasten they chest buckle. I think that'd be a better and look smarter too

Sorry I couldn't understand that first sentance :o was it "Wasn't sure if it would cause problems?"?
I think if you put a tuck in elsewhere you run the risk of creating a point of pressure which may rub or cause discomfort and which could possibly pull the rug out of line slightly making it hang differently, again this could cause rubs and discomfort.
If you overlap more at the front with the buckles moved the hang of the rug stays the same and the neck opening part becomes smaller. If the overlap is huuuuge and is poking out of the bottom maybe your friend could rig something to the outside part of the inner flap (sorry that might be confusing :o) like a velcro strip which will effectively "pin" it in place?

@sandi

I meant problems like rubbing etc but your right the adjustment to the front buckle would be better. There's already Velcro so maybe that can be moved as well
