bought Diva a beautiful pink swish stable rug, with the intention to also get her a turnout, but it’s down to her knees!

She’s a 5”9 for all the decent brands - swish, horseware, weatherbeeta etc, so a 5”6 will leave half her bum out. the stable rug is fine, cos she won’t be running around in it, but ideally i’d like a turnout rug that’s not as long on her legs!

i also don’t want to spend hundreds on one, especially when i have a sneaky suspicion she might be rug wrecker.

I’ll swap you a old weetherbeeta 😂
Are all brands you tried very long?

the swish one is the only “proper” rug i’ve had on her! i don’t want to commit to buying anymore until i’ve had some recommendations😂 i’ve put it off because it was summer but it’s getting wetter and wetter and i want to try and find something on sale before they all go back to full price for winter lmao

i got the stable rug off fb, but i don’t really want a 2nd hand turnout - poor little love hardly gets anything new, she’s always in someone’s hand me downs🤣 so she deserves her own posh coat haha

I would say the shires ones are not overly long but my horses are taller than yours but Arabi is only a 6ft and just under 15 hands, and they look the right length on him his weatherbeeta are longer.

How tall is she? My 2020 Swish is a lot deeper than my 2022 Swish so I wonder if their sizing isn't always that reliable.

Had to go up a size for weatherbeeta

Amigo rugs and Mios are not very generous on depth and you could always buy a smaller one and then add a chest expander to make it fit round her. I have a small, large bodied pony and it works really well.

oh really? i found the opposite on lily! i found her shires rugs fit lovely, but the weatherbeeta one i bought her just wasn’t deep enough so i ended up selling it. Diva’s fly rug is shires so i know how they fit on her at least!

depends where you measure!🙈 13.1/2, that’s interesting! the one i bought her was second hand, so maybe (hopefully) they don’t make them as deep anymore.

i’ve been eyeing up the amigo pony rugs! it’s just a pity the majority don’t have liner attachments. Lily has one that i’m going to ask the local rug wash lady to put some attachments on, so worst case scenario i’ll have to do that! i did find that it’s not very deep on her, even in a 6ft

thankyou for all the help guys, as it turns out weatherbeeta are actually a lovely fit in the 5”6!

now we need a tough stable rug that won’t break the bank, because the little menace has ripped her stable rug to shreds after 2 nights - pulled it up over her bum, put her head down, stood on the end of it and pulled back then stepped out of it! i’d be furious if i wasn’t also impressed🤦🏼‍♀️😂
