probs are but we dont often get over to the tack shop!! We buy our feed at Charlies, i have looked at the board and there and none. We are in the North.
If that's the Shrewsbury one then perhaps ask at Prescott RC. Failing that, ask at your vet surgery or your blacksmith, they're usually in the know. Have you looked in Shrewsbury market, might be some notices there too.
Mr Jones is Oswestry does repairs. He used to get rugs cleaned as well but don't know if he still organises that.
The Wynnstay farm shop also takes rugs for cleaning. And I suspect farm and pet can arrange something too. I think these are outsourced and done on a weekly turnover basis.
The stable saddlery at Hadnall do repairs and cleaning on site.
Try Annie Townsend (four seasons rug wash) she's in Hanmer she's reasonably priced and will collect and deliver them too, she's lovely and did all my rugs before I moved away, number is 07783 075407.
Cleaning I do myself i use a karcher jet spray after i have either squirted fabric cleaner on them or soaked them in a plasters bath . They come up gr8 (not a stain free as a pro) but saves money.
I do NZ too the only time i send them to a pro is for major repairs. I do minor ones buckles small rips) when you have 4 1/2 animals it gets expensive to send them . if you look on here this heavy duly clothes horses can hold the weight of a human and 14 oz soaking wet rug.
But if you opt for a cleaner make sure they are clear with what you want done. I just sent one for a major repair and said
If it needs cleaning before you repair please contact m first - I don't want it done as it costs more than the rug. They ignored me and cleaned it so i complained and got refund.
My rugs took 10 weeks, came back dirty, he avoids calls, makes false promises and his dog savaged the inside of a heavyweight rambo outdoor.
He had stiched it back up but I can't use it as there are so many seams, it rubbed my horse within a few days. He wouldn't give me anything in compensation and I had paid out £90 for three rugs.
Needless to say, not a good experience!!!
I think the ranch rug cleaning people are quite good if you try googling them?
I take mine to Field & Farm shop at Horsehay,Telford. Someone collects them on a Friday and returns them the following Friday. £16 for a wash and reproof and they do a lovely job.
