Hi

My 5yo terror has decided she has a new trick - she has been removing her rug over night, neck cover and all, without even breaking or undoing a strap... it is left all done up - just on the floor not on her!!

I am tempted to get a cctv camera in her box as it must be really amusing to watch her wriggle out of it. It is extra amazing as she hates having anything near her head and yet is happy to squeeze her full necked rug over it!!

I am sure there are hundreds of people with the same problem???! I was wondering if anyone knew of any stable rugs with leg straps? I havent seen any. YO suggested stabling her in her turnout with leg straps but she is so filthy I wouldnt be able to use it during the day (for turnout) if I did!

Anyone else out there with similar cheeky nags who have any top tips to stop this happening?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, I have an German Warmblood who done it several times last winter. I still dont know how he does it, as you say all of the straps and buckles are still done up. Funny, he hasnt done it for a long time !!. No ideal how to stop it apart from leg straps. I have some light weight stable rugs with legs straps.

Yep mine manages that with a couple of his rugs, i just attached some bailing twine to the back as a second fillet string (higer up than the original) and it seems to work! There are also stable rugs with leg straps but i have no idea as to where you would find any

our new baby does the same...he took everything off last night and shreeded his bib...even watched him in the field taking off his boots..all four fronts easy...backs take some moves than can't be normal!!!
