I have a new pony and am thinking about rugs. She's an Irish cob - not particularly wide/stocky. I tried my friend's old Weatherbeeta Landa on her for size and it was a good fit, particularly around her neck/chest/shoulders. I tried another one (can't recall make) and that gaped a bit around the neck.

Really not sure where to start. There are so many different types these days!! I don't think Weatherbeeta make Landas any more. I don't want a neck cover, and prefer not to do up buckles if possible (I have arthritis in my hands and they are terrible in the winter months) so clips at the front work much better for me. I've always bought Horseware rugs (Rhino or Rambo) for my previous mare and really liked them for both comfort and durability.

Any advice gratefully received. Thank you in advance!

My Irish cob wears a mixture of Rhino and Premier Equine mainly. He is quite broad, so may not be the same shape as yours, but I find both are good fits. Premier Equine is particularly roomy and some people have had problems with the rugs getting heavy when wet, although that hasn't been my experience.

My old cob mainly wore Amigo, Rambo and Rhino, again with some Premier Equine thrown in. I've never been a Weatherbeeta or Shires fan.

Swish fit my cobs well and are reasonably priced.
I bought a Swish fly mask for her earlier this year, and haven't been that impressed with the quality unfortunately as I was sewing it up a few weeks after first use. How robust are their rugs? Have you had yours some time? I have to say I find all the different colour combinations quite offputting, but then I'm not very matchy matchy! 😂
