I am looking for a reasonably priced outdoor rug for a very thoroughbreddy old thoroughbred.

Anyone got any recommendations?

Thanks

I've got a Masta on her at the moment. Was one of S's old ones. However it is very baggy on her chest and is pulling on her shoulders. Wondered if there was anything more snug?
I sent the email last night and it has been bounced back to me. I have sent it again. Will PM you my email address. Something strange is going on.

I was hoping to look towards the more budget end of the rug market. Money is tight and all that.

If all else fails I may have to spend more cash.

He also had a saxon I think as well which fit him well. Could try 2nd hand on ebay or there are lots of rug sales on at the moment too. I bought Spring a premier equine turnout and a load of cheapy masta stable rugs in a rug sale at our local saddlery as I agree money is tight!

I have found weatherbeetas and Amigos to fit my girly very well - had mastas last year but they rubbed, slipped and leaked! She also has a JHL summersheet and a shires fleece which fit very well.

My youngster is a TB and I also found the masta was too big around the front. Weatherbeeta's fit really nicely around the front and don't rub on him

The new (well, not really new now, but you know what I mean) Weatherbeeta freestyle rugs are great on TBy types! Good prices too! There are loads on ebay atm - or there were last week anyhow! Mole Valley do them at very reasonable prices! Sometimes WB's come up long in the back, so just be aware of that - might be worth trying one on, before buying online.........

I have found that most of my Rambo's are better on the slimmer horses. Fal are better for the more muscular ones.

I have an old tb x and the Wetherbeeta (arion i think) fits him lovely, it has a high neck so doesnt rub his high skinny withers

Also just got a Loveson Pennine high neck LW which is a good fit too!

Had narrow Anglo Mare, wore Rhino/rambos, they fit superb. This is her with rhino LW (she also has MW T/O and MW stable)[image]

Amigo is Kinder on pockets (£££)... Never had chance to use it on Her but got one for my full TB who takes 6'9 and rug is quite narrow, but lovely fit. He's in the sign... with amigo on (he got MW stable, 200g underrug and rambo Duo on its way)

I agree with the people who have suggested Amigo. One of the horses on our yard has a lovely lightweight Amigo - she is a fine arab mare, and it looks a lovely fit.
