Sorry I know there are about a million rug threads at the mo!

My 4yo WB is quite narrow. She currently wears a 6' amigo turnout which fits her really well, except her bum is now sticking out a little as she has grown. As it fit so well I got a 6'3" but it is huge. Length is fine, but the front is gaping. She looks like she is playing dress-up.

So after recommendations for rugs to fit a narrow horse. I prefer detachable necks and preferably less than £150, about 350g

Thanks

I've always liked Shires rugs. They fit my old TB beautifully, and are also lovely on my current TB-type gelding and slender Welsh B. If you're on a budget, you'll find that they don't break the bank either.
The Shires Tempest Plus might be a good option for you. I think that they're around £90 on eBay with the detachable neck included, and have 300g of fill.

I have chunky sec D and Connemara. The rugs I find too narrow are; amigo, rhino (horseware in general) and weatherbeeta freestyle. I just stick to WB original now lol.

My boy has a pretty narrow chest, most rugs gape on him, but I have found the new style premier equines fit well.

It would be worth looking at the Maxima Equestrian rugs - unlike Amigos, the front fastenings are fully adjustable, so you can get a much more precise fit round the chest and neck. This photo shows the fittings:

You can see you have a choice of two rings to clip to, plus the other end of the strap can be lengthened or shortened via a buckle, giving you plenty of room for adjustment. Heavyweight (400g) turnout rugs with a detachable neck are £74.99 including free UK delivery. Outer is 1200 denier ripstop fabric, inner is nylon lined, comes with detachable leg straps:

another vote for the wug. I've a narrow tb who spends his life with rugs twisted around him, and its the only one thats stayed in place. the neck seems to hold it and strap design on it works well. hasn't shifted at all on him

My narrow TB always does well in Masta rugs, so I have built up a collection of them. As you describe, other ones I could fit two of him in the shoulders... I also like the fit of my premier equine rainsheet, though it's the only one of theirs I've tried.
