overnight it dropped to -5 here on the outskirts of peterborough (or so the themometer at stables says) i got down this morning to find SWA had got both back legs OVER the belly stap of his turnout & got stuck! he has ripped the back of it to shreds trying to get free & Hami has shredded the frot of it with his teeth trying to help him (its smothered in teeth marks.
i have had to cut the rug off him so now he is in just his stable rug (its all i have that fits him) & is shivering still.
i have given him a hot mash & shut them both in but really need ideas on places to get cheap 5ft rugs asap secondhand/new/need repair not fussed as tonight is forcast to be even colder & i dont get paid for another week (typically)
cheers guys

HI

Sorry to hear your issue, you can if you have an old quilt at home or buy cheap one from Asdas layer it under the stable rug - might only cost a £5.

Either that or beg borrow another turnout and replace it when you are paid!

hope you get sorted out soon - make sure they have ad lib hay as that is what will keep them warm - getting plenty fibre into them
