Planning on getting my horse clipped this week- am thinking just a bib clip or a very low trace clip as she's not in much work but has a coat about 3 foot deep!

Her medium stable rug from last year has been completely trashed and so I am trying to find a replacement. I was wondering if I will need to find a rug which has a neck on it? She's quite a hot horse however i'm worried that if I take even half of her neck off and dont cover it she will be cold later in the winter!

Also, do you have any medium weight stable rugs that you could recommend?? Thanks!

my lad is also quite a hot horse and is fully clipped but never with the neck attached to his rug even when it is freezing outside as he just tries to rub it off as hes too hot

You can buy ones with a detachable neck. Or fold the neck back underneath the back bit when it is warmer if you want.

Thanks Curio! Her last rug had a neck on it and more often then not we just tucked it underneath but I just worry she will be cold when the nights get chilly and I wont have the option of putting up her neck cover.

Shay- I have been looking around for a middle weight stable rug with a neck and havent had any joy. Do you know of anywhere where I can find one???

I like the Amigo stable rugs - I have the medium weight one which you can get a detachable neck cover for. Not too expensive and mine fits in the yard washing machine so easy to keep clean too.
