Having always had horses with large shoulders and looking for the chunky friendly makes I'm currently a bit stuck!

Looking for a turnout rug for a very fine show pony type. I'd been told Saxon or amigo mio fit well but neither do a 50g rug which I find really useful. Anyone any suggestions of other makes that would work? He'll be living out so I need something that stays waterproof

I'm assuming swish won't work as they fit my broad shouldered warmblood well.

Yep shires Tempest or Typhoon. The Typhoon is the narrowest one, then Tempest. Don’t bother with highlander as they are better for chunkier types or big withers! I had a very narrow ISH and narrow TB and the tempest and typhoon fit perfectly.

They are excellent rugs I’ve had several and well worth it!

I wouldn’t bother with horseware mio’s. One of mine had hers for 1 day before she ripped a massive tear down the side and she was pretty good with rugs.
As above the shires range are better quality at a similar/cheaper price. I’d choose them over an amigo now. Rhino and Rambo are better quality but pricier.

Perfect sounds like a shire typhoon would do the trick. He's very dainty which is a new one for me. Used to draught crosses etc!
