I've decided I don't trust the English weather anymore! It's set to be cold and wet next week up here with overnight frosts :(

My minis are rapidly loosing their lovely thick coats and I'm concerned that if the weather gets a bit dramatic during the coming months they potentially could be colder than they were during winter when they had their nice wooly coats. I know in theory they shouldn't need rugs, and especially not during the warmer months but I really just don't trust the weather anymore, I have this horrible gut feeling that we are not done with the erratic weather! I would rather be safe than sorry so was thinking of getting a couple of lightweight turnout rugs/rain sheets, mainly just for emergencies if it does get really cold and wet again and they only have a short coat.

Only problem is I can't find any! They both measure up as needing a 3ft, but they seem to be few and far between, for a lightweight one at least. I am looking for second hand as can't really afford to splash out on new ones - theyre so expensive!

Anybody fancy helping me in my search? I'm not fussed what it looks like, as long as its in good working order. Have tried ebay with no luck and have looked on preloved and couldn't find anything suitable.

Crispy m&m's for helpers :)

These are top notch, and only £25. I have two of them!

Additionally, I bought one of these last week; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SHETLAND-...Horse_Wear_Equipment&var=&hash=item6d7c203435

I realsie it's a 200g but they usually have other weights in stock. Have a look tomorrow and see if they've updated their listings, the one I have fits like a dream - she's only 9.2hh and they dont hang over her knees like some of her other rugs.

A little more than I was looking to spend really but they are tempting, I suppose it's not that expensive really... ...and I would qualify for free delivery :D

My OH would have a fit if he knew I was even contemplating spending that much...oops! :o

What are the ruggles ones like length wise? They look a bit long on some of the pictures on their website. I haven't even measured my two but they have quite short legs

I hunted high and low a fortnight ago, you probably wont find a new 1200denier any cheaper than those. I've lost count of the number of 600d's she's gone through whilst shedding/itching on the fence posts.

I think the depth is dependent on the length - they fit better than most others i've bought and are designed exp for minis.

Thanks :) I think I will keep hunting for some 2nd hand ones for a other couple of days and if I can't find anything I'll give in and get them!

Does anybody know if there's a way of getting ebay to notify you if a listing which had certain words in becomes available? For example if somebody lists "3ft turnout rug" I would get an email?
