Rug repairs, has anyone tried this tape?

It looks a good idea but I've tried other types of tape in the past with little success unless I sewed it on.
A friend used it on a rug I asked her to look at, she is amazing at repairs.
It had several tiny nicks that she covered with little square patches of tape.
The rugs not been used much at all yet as it’s not cold enough but have used a few times. I notice the tape is peeling round the edges slightly but it’s still on fairly tight so I think maybe a bigger section of tape might be ok.
For tiny nicks I think storm sure glue is better.

I always use McNett Gortex patch kits for turnout rugs. They come in circles and oblong shapes and you just remove the backing and stick it over the hole/tear. They make the rug completley waterproof and it has taken a few years before I’ve had to replace them but I don’t have my rugs commercially cleaned.
